Widely acknowledged as the father of Dutch techno. The Amsterdam native was among the first electronic artists to connect his city to Detroit, and has stayed relentlessly productive across decades under more than a dozen aliases. He broke through with 1995's 'Secret Life of Machines' as Sterac, expanding on the driving, melodic Detroit sound of Derrick May and Carl Craig; his other lasting aliases are Sterac Electronics for electro, disco and funk, and Parallel 9 for dub techno.
