Alias of Danilo Plessow, who grew up in Schwabisch Gmund, played drums from the age of six and started making music with a computer and samples at eleven. Despite the name he is from Stuttgart, not Detroit: the moniker is a tribute to the Midwestern American soul, jazz and house that have shaped his productions from the start. He also recorded a DJ-Kicks and now often works under his own name.
