Jeff Mills

Detroit techno

American DJ, producer and composer, born in Detroit in 1963 and known on radio as The Wizard, where he played a nonstop blend of techno, house and hip-hop. In 1992 he set up Axis with fellow Detroit native Robert Hood, later adding the sub-labels Purpose Maker, Tomorrow and 6277, all aiming at a more minimal sound than the techno around them. He also works as an artist, filmmaker and film composer.
