Dimitri Kneppers, born in 1967 and a pioneer of Amsterdam dance culture, known as one of the country's most respected and least predictable DJs. He became a key figure at RoXY, where his Thursday night Hi-Tech Soul Movement gained cult status for its musical freedom and marathon sessions. He was voted the Netherlands' number one club DJ four years running from 1994 and number three in the world by DJ Mag in 1996, played the very first Awakenings in 1997, took a three-year break in 2007 after 23 years non-stop, and returned with a residency at Trouw in 2010. His sets are emotional and futuristic, moving freely between techno, house, electro, disco, breakbeat and drum and bass.
